My new-to-me 914 still has points, to replace these with electronic ignition I'm looking at spending about $80...the Mallory is a little over $250, but I like the idea that it is brand new instead of just throwing in parts into an old unknown distributor.
I know with the D-Jet, I have to do "something" about the FI trigger points, has anyone dealt with this before??

No engineering allowed on your driver. Get a Pertronix and be done with it. 
Mike, just get the darn thing up and running....that would make me MAD and may push me over the edge to get mine back on the road!
