It seems to have constant power, but the color of the wire doesn't match the other stuff going to the clock, temp gauge or volt meter.

Thoughts/ideas?

there aren't too many black/red wires in our cars, in fact, i can only find 3 ...

and none of them runs through the center tunnel/console area. (except that i don't know about later cars with the fuel pump in the front, maybe?)

1. coil to relay board
2. relay board to fuel pump
3. fuse panel to relay for fresh air blower

what year is your car?

Isn't that tiny little wire to the light in the "defroster thingy" supposed to be blue?

This should give you a good look at the wiring for the center console:

The BK/RD wire feeds 12 Volts to the clock. See below.

Phil,

I love your diagrams!!!

I'll check it out this weekend. I actually need to get a whole new center console. Mine sorta disintegrated in my hands when I was removing it. Gonna wait and save up some more to get one of those nice center consoles made by morphenspectra with the sub... seems like a great way to go with the car for some clean sound.

Thanks a lot.
