We're adding a little excitement to the drive this year.
Its going to be a gimmick rally with questions you need to find the answers to while enroute. There will be prizes for the top 3.
I've already begun working on a really fun country drive with twisties and elevation changes, 3 lakes, a river, a mountaintop vista, and much more.

We'll gather outside Tangerine Racing Products on Saturday morning starting around 9am.
The plan is to get underway around 10:30am.
The drive is going to take about 3 hours including rest stops.

Mary and I will be hosting the barbeque in our back yard.

People came from as far away as Philly PA, Bangor Maine and Watertown New York for the first Northeast Rally & Barbeque.

Don't be shy even if your 914 isn't up to the ride. We accept all Porsche (and ACVW) models, and I'm sure we can find some empty passenger seats for those who prefer to navigate.

I would love to make this, but I will be in Lincoln, Ne for the SCCA Nationals 2 weeks before and Red Rock Classic the weekend before, pretty sure I will be out of vacation days and money by then.

Time for an update.

This year instead of pot luck I will be supplying all of the food for the BBQ, menu not quite finalized but will likely include potato salad, macaroni salad, fruit salad, baked beans, ribs, hot dogs, chicken, and a small keg of Ten Penny Ale.
Beer and beverage contributions are welcome!

Those who stay until dark will be treated to a small fireworks display.
Camping in our backyard is available free of charge.

Meal ticket cost is $20 prepaid, $25 at the event.
Half price for children under 15.

No cost to run the rally.


For those who stay in the area overnight, Sunday breakfast will be available for $10/person.

I will be sending email announcements soon to everyone in my database within a (approximately) 200 mile radius.

It's on my calendar. May well have my spouse with me to handle the navigation duties. I'll need to buy a CT road map, given her sense of direction. <grin>

She's really looking forward to it, but is nervous about what kind of navigation she might have to help with.

Chris can you give us a few more details or is it all secret until we get there?

For the most part the navigation will be pretty easy. I don't want anyone to get lost in the styx of eastern CT.
The real work will be finding answers to the questionaire, and even that isn't designed to be difficult.
