I'm adding a Oil presure gage that reads up to 80 psi. I'm also replacing my old oil pressure relief spring and valve with kit to increase pressure because my current spring is very weak and origional springs are not available. What is to much pressure?

Pick your own number ... 40 - 80 psi. 10 psi per 1000 RPM is what Porsche says.

Excessive oil pressure will not blow seals ... over filling with oil and excessive blow-by will.

Excessive oil pressure will pit the bearings (rods / mains). Also robs engine of horsepower as it take power to turn the pump.

smile.gif Adding an oil pressure gauge has been on my list of upgrades for sometime now. What type of gauge did you get, and where are you mounting it?

I have a VDO gage and sensor with 2 outputs (one for the gage and one of the light) that I have installed where my voltage gage was in the center console. This is tempory as I plan on making a new center board for the console that will hold 4 gages so I can put the voltage gage back in.

I run a 52mm VDO pressure gauge and duel-post sensor out of a 924. I mounted it where the oil temp gauge was in my center console and replaced the base fuel gauge with a combo in my dash cluster so I still have the temp gauge.
