Joel has decided to sell Sweat Pea. the pea was created by Jerry M, a member here. Joel bought the car and we finished the details. we used lock washers, locktite and all the stuff that makes a car stay together. no duct tape, chewing gum or improvised fasteners. proper fasteners is my pet peeve/ fetish
sean_v8_914

this is the original color, l63k willow green.
non appearance group 914s had body color bumpers and no sail panel trim
sean_v8_914
i am installing new retractable seat belts with inertia reels

there is no such thing as a 100% rust free 40 year old car but The sweet Pea is about as rust free as you can find anywhere

this image shows some surface rust. i have been thinking about finishing off this area if it does not sell. more green i think. i just dont want to disassemble since everything is so dialed in.

it takes less time to assemble than it does to dial in the details that make for a great driving experience

sean_v8_914
the red stuff is 3m flange sealant. it follows the expansion and contraction difference between steel and aluminum. stays soft but impervious to automotive fluids. very expensive but never leaks
orthobiz
I'd say the car is rust free.

Paul
sean_v8_914
rust free. if you buy the Pea, I will not charge you for that rust, it's included free

Rear brakes and rotors? 914-6 style?

Sean and Paul,
I could not get this 914 out of my head either and the more of them that I looked at, and I looked at some very tasty cars.....this one stood out. It looks right to my eye and it is apparent that the caretakers were committed to making it a beautiful, solid 914. I'm looking forward to meeting up w/Joel in San Diego and then heading up the coast. What could be better?

This is my first 914, but i have been a 911 owner for many years and participate quite a bit on the Pelican Parts (al lkosmal), Early S (xfaktory) and RGruppe forums. I look forward to going down that slippery slope with this one, learning from the collected knowledge/wisdom of the 914 World, and eventually contributing.

regards,
Al
