I checked the TDC mark on the fan in relation to the fan housing while checking deck height on my 2056 and it is approx. 1/2" off from where actual TDC mark is.

Is this common?
Mblizzard
Just did the same on my 2056 and they seemed to be spot on. Did you verify TDC withe the mark on the flywheel?
jmargush
don't have the flywheel on yet.

as with everything else guess I will triple check this

Fans are marked differently. The 1.8 fan could have a mark at 7 degrees
and not at tdc. 7 is only about a half inch from tdc. Is it possible you have a 1.8 fan?
I have seen fans with one mark only.
Mblizzard
This is what I have.

Definitely possible it is a 1.8 fan. In fact it probably is.

So I assume the best thing is to mark TDC on it and then also add timing marks.

Do you still have the ljet?
jmargush
I have a working L-jet on the 1.8 in the car now.

I also have the D-jet that came with the 2.0 don't know the condition of the system as it wasn't running when i bought it.

I need to get this thing in the car so I am considering putting the L-jet on it.

Any opinions or input on that?
TheCabinetmaker
I'm a djet guy, cause that's what I know, but the ljet is supposed to be more tunable for larger displacement.
jmargush
Guess I will have to research this more in the next few weeks

If you don't use the ljet I would be interested in it if it is for a 1975
