Got a set of rear rotor and Porsterfiel pads (R4S).
When putting them on I realized that the top pin is bigger, where it is holding the pads.
Also the old pads have two different size holes (textar)

The new Porterfields have two small holes.

Is that a known issue?
I was planing on drilling them out tomorrow...

Yup. Not uncommon. I don't know which work and which don't, etc. But yeah, just drill them.

Are there any modification needed for the front porterfields?

I just installed a set of front pads and they went in like buttah. No mods needed. Haven't done the back ones yet so thanks for the heads-up.

In the Old Days the rear 914 pads were location specific, as they had a slight taper, nowadays they are not, So orientation is non specific..drill em out.

I think that pretty soon this (the need to enlarge one hole) will be true for all rear pads. It seems the OEM's like Textar, Jurid, etc. are doing the same thing as Porterfield in order to commonize the 914 rear pad with one or more other applications.

We recently had a customer who wanted stock pads that did not need to be drilled and they are hard to find.
