What is this wire for ?? In same harness as wiper motor

Darn phone sent photo upside down.
It's brown with dark blue bands. When I took wiper motor off for clean-up i labeled all the 4 wires that went to it, so sure I've got wiper motor rewired OK. Can't remember where this wire was before.

Could it be brown/black?

If i'm not mistaken, the brown/black has a black stripe, not bands.

Also, the brown/black exits the harness earlier, almost immediately after the harness goes through the grommet and into the cowl area.

well it looks like it is supposed to go through that grommet...
What is right on the other side of the firewall by that grommet?

(91) Windhield wiper interval relay

.....Intermittant wiper's??

If you don't have an intermittent wiper relay it should be taped back to the harness.

Directly behind that grommet is the center console, wire too short to do anything back there.
No center console wiring would not enter via that grommet any way.

Do you have this relay?



If not, the wire should be taped back up against the harness there.

No don't have this. Car is a 76 although lots of stuff had been deleted when i got it including the wiper arms

If its brown/black, its the intermittent wiper relay trigger. Without the intermittent relay, you do not have that optional equipment, so just tape the wire to the harness.

Looks like my previous post with the big wiring diagram somehow got ignored ...

I used that wire for a electric washer pump. When I pulled the stalk, the brown wire was hot. I can't remember if it was that way or I made it so by wiring it that way.
