BTW...what is the bracket on the runners in the first pic for??? I haven't put it back.

Thanks. It still needs some clean up [overspray in the engine compartment, etc.] and other parts installed.

It's for the original air filter, which you obviously don't need.

i've always disliked the way most D-jet engine bays look -- but this is VERY nice!!! congrats smilie_pokal.gif
Qarl
You left your barbel on the engine!
aircooledboy
What the heck is that thing with the blue beer can cozies on it? laugh.gif
newdeal2
The PO fabricated a dual K&N air intake...it works pretty good. I have the original air filter assembly but for now the "barbell" stays. cool.gif

PS those are nylon filter covers.

Looks great but dump the acidbattery for a Optima before you wreck the nice paint.
newdeal2
Yep...it's on my Christmas list! wink.gif

Looks good. I like it. What is the aluminum piece under the battery ?? Did you install a new tray/triangle ?

B
newdeal2
It's just a temp tray. I will be fabricating a new one out of aluminum once I have the new battery for fit.
JmuRiz
WOW! great looking motor.

Very nice. I better get back out to the shop. I have a long way to go. Hey , did you pull the engine or detail it in place?
d7n7master
Nice job. That's sweet. Post some pics of the "barbell" & maybe a few dimensions, p/n's??? Please? : beerchug.gif

Very nice, I down loaded the pictures for inspiration. I got lots of pictures smile.gif

The motor came completely out...it's a rebuild:

Hammer920

Rhodes71/914
Great! Just the inspiration I needed!
Hopefully mine will look like that by the end of the month.

WOW!!!! agree.gif

That IS the nicest looking D-Jet engines I've ever seen and maybe one of the better looking Type IVs I've seen. Amazing what plug wires and that air-filter setup will do -- and the firewall looks great!

Very nice, and very inspiring!

Yeah, I'd like a bit more info on this set up, and a pic or two of how it's mounted to the throttle body. It really opens up the engine bay. Wonder if the nylon covers come in different colors?

I want to do the same in red!
newdeal2
OK guys...but I need to finish a project first, then get cylinder #1 firing and the timing sorted out. Then I will take dimensions [ it's actually a plumbers pvc tee]and give you whatever info I have. This setup came from the PO so I can only guess at some aspects i.e. the mount to the throttle body is a little make shift but overall the bugger works!

Be back with all of this in a few days cool.gif
