My first Video. Starting a cold engine (on a hot day).

This seems to be the norm for me. After a few minutes it smooths out and runs nicely.
Can we Dx anything from the video?

Any thoughts?

[Edit] adding basic info.
76 stock D-jet.
EGR and air injection are long gone.
New vac. hoses, points, rotor, cap, plugs.
Dwell and timing set.
Valves adjusted.

Valves might be to tight.
Sounds like one cylinder is fighting you on the first time you try to start it.

Points, plugs & cap are new.
Timing and dwell were done and redone.
valves set before engine install and checked two weeks ago after a little bit of "around the block" driving.

#2 gave me some trouble at first but a new injector helped that.


It does sound like it's running on 2-3 cylinders at first.

FYI: I don't touch the gas during the video.

Check the AAR if running stock FI. It may be a warm day but that does not keep it from sticking.

The only way I got mine to start from standing outside the car was after I removed the AAR and cold start injector....and then it only starts when it's warm outside without me giving it some gas.....

So, it may be in those two systems that are making it not perfect.

Thanks, I'll try to rule in/out the AAR and cold start valve as a culprit. would the AAR be sticking open of closed to cause these symptoms?

I have been reading about the CHT and resistor. I don't have the resistor (it's a 76).
could that be part of it?

I have a 76 Djet, running the CHT without any resistor, car starts without any problems.
