I'm hoping someone can help with some advice. I just rebuilt my 1.7 and when I try and start it, it runs for about three seconds and then dies. I can't get it to start again until the next day when it starts for about three seconds and dies again and won't restart for another 24 hours. The Carb and fuel pump are both new. I am getting plenty of gas to the carb but may be flooding it? Anyone have any thoughts or advice? Thanks.

What type of carbs are you using?
What fuel pump?
What fuel pressure regulator?

I have a 32/36 weber carb. The fuel pump is a Mr gasket 42s micro electric pump. I am not using a pressure regulator. The car didn't have one so I didn't put one on. I'm thinking that may be an issue as the carb can only handle 3.5 psi. The pump doesn't specify it's output. Any suggestions on a regulator?
