Pumped out the 20 year old gas, to to remove the fuel tank, and my pump kept plugging up, this tar like goo,, any way after all the stories with fuel tanks rusting out, I'm hoping this tar saved my fuel tank, every thing came off with out a sighn of rust,, fuel cap took me 20min. to get it off..
From the pictures I'll bet I'm going to need a fuel sender.. my fuel tank well looks to be in great.
preping for the stablizer bar also..
the car always lived in Texas, and in a garage, so everything is coming right apart. sorry you guys in cold country smash.gif

Doesn't cost all that much, and saves a lot of work.

I guess you are going to have to replace the tunnel fuel lines too? Man, that is some sludge.

I've got a 911 tank that probably weighs close to 20 pounds form where it sat with a full tank and it all turned into sludge. Not sure how I'm going to get it out unsure.gif

Do not tell the guy at the radiator shop Its from a porsche.
When you say porsche, the price doubles. its from a vw. I don't let them seal it either, even though they "strongly suggest it". I'm just not willing to risk the sealer peeling off.
Keep the tank full of fresh gas and it won't rust.
