I know the five hole Mahle Gas Burners are the most sought after wheels but $4200?

I got five "Baby" 4 hole gas burners with almost new tires for $350 two years ago. At the requested price of $4200, I could get 12 sets of the Babies!

are there supposed to be lines on the ribs with the oems? for those that like the look and not the prices, check out the repops at CIP1. 4 and 5 lug. the dif is damn near a paint job.
toolguy
another of the things that the seller knows there is someone out there that just has to have them. .
Worth that much ?? I wouldn't pay that but some people have more money than resistance sometimes. .
JRust
I'd say overpriced but they are rare. I have seen multiple sets go in the $3500 range & go damn quick blink.gif

Pretty fair priced actually by today's rates.

Stop looking on eBay. Start looking on The Samba, you might need a little patients, but they show up regularly…

Even the screw was custom.

Added a custom stamp too.

I sold my set for $2k cash to local buyer. I was happy.

Huh? How do you quote someone who hasn't posted in this thread

$4200 seems about right for a nice set of gasburners when you consider the asking prices for the cars they go on.

There was a nice set in the classifieds here recently for ~$1800, IIRC. Those were the cheapest I've see in the last 10 years.

These are the ultimate sleeper wheels for 914-6, IMO.

I love the Mahle on the 914-6 drooley.gif and will have set when the time is right. However right now it is all about the chassis and then the suspension is next.

Those lines are dried grease.

That's what you pay for magnesium !

Those are the lightest rims you can buy for a Porsche...
carr914
Man, they have gone up in $$. I don't like them on 911's but think they are great on 914-6's

I would be starting to get worried about the Magnesium at this point. Magnesium gets very brittle with age

Okay, Who wants my set of 5 starting bid at $5000

Every gas burner I've checked out over the last 20 or so years has had signs of corrosion and most had stress cracks. I wouldn't feel safe with putting them on my six now at any price, even though I love their looks.

Advertise them on the proper forum and they probably would have been sold by now. wink.gif

Yeah Eric, I don't really want to sell them, but if some one offered a ridiculous amount of coin, I would sell them in a heart beat. Every one has their price.

No. I'm just thinking that price is always flexible and a moving target
