I just installed a Pertronix SVDA into my T-4 2056cc. I set the full advance to 28 BTDC degrees hose off & Plugged. It idles at 4 degrees BTDC. As for the vacuum advance...once the hose is plugged in and I rev the engine and feather it at 3500-3800rpm's it advances to roughly 32-33 degrees. This is with the vehicle (72 Westy tin top) parked, no load on engine.

I reset the A/f on the carbs and re-synced them as well. Idle is set at roughly 900rpms's.

I was told the diaphragm will be stiff and it'll need 1500-2000 miles before it'll loosen up enough to see the full amount (whatever that may be).

Thoughts?

I have a Hot Spark version and I am seeing a lack of advance. I just can't accept that I should have to use a product beyond its return time limit in order for it to start working correctly?

I am going to try my 009 and send the SVDA back.
