I removed my pedal assy and put all new bushings in it. When I removed the assy there was sound deadening between the assy and the floort. Is this correct?

never seen it under the pedal box....
I would thing that should be firmly bolted to the floor with no flexible material to eventually wear out and change the angle of the pedal box.

That is what I would think, but when I removed it there was the tar under there.
