FS Porsche 914/6 GT Race Car. Built by Peter Dawe, formerly of Andial. Andial is Porsche's North American Performance Supplier. Dawe built the Porsche Racing Engines for Andial.
This 914/6 based on a 1972 914 was lightened to 1,650 lbs. Almost a complete tube frame chassis. It is equipped with a Dawe built 2.9 liter six cylinder. The engine has Cosworth Pistons, low tension piston rings, cross drilled crank shaft in a shaved, honed, lightened and shuffled pinned case, producing 310 HP. The low tension piston rings produce between 5-10% more power. As a result of the low tension rings the engine smokes upon start up and dissipates when warm and fully operational.
A lightened, close ratio, with stiffening kit 901 5 speed competition gear box. (35 front brakes and 944 rears. The mechanical's were rebuilt in 2008 and it has only 6 hours on it since then.
The car was fully maintained for the 25 years it was race, from 1985 until 2010, then it was until now. The mechanical's have been inspected by RaceLink, on Amelia Island, Fl. RaceLink is one of the countries foremost Porsche race shop. They also run the U. S. Caymen Series. All was frond in great condition. Compression test revealed between 175-180 PSI and a leak down test was performed. The results were one cylinder at 3%, one at 2% and four at 1%.
The car was tested recently and the engine pulls hard and has tremendous torque. The gearbox shifts smoothly and percise, with no crunching. The clutch works properly and the brakes were just awesome. It has recently been painted, new graphic applied. It ready for your racing numbers and enjoy. $27,500. Has been reduced from $35,000.
