I have a trannie mount That I have had in my shop for 30 years left over from when I used to play with them. It might be an engine mount, it's just been sooo long! To describe it would be a ~42" long sorta square box tube weldment. It is approx1.5" square in cross-section & has 2 vertical holes at the end. It also has a raised portion which is about 10" long in the middle. Can someone help me identify this part & before I cut it up for metal stock I thought some Porsche people might be interested.

it is probably an engine mount, late style

see last diagram - does it look like 8 or 9 ??

I am sure you have an engine mount as tranny mount is integral to tranny.

pictured is side shift style engine mount. you probably have tail shift style.

FYI - it is worthless - they are a dime a dozen. but thanks for offering it up. what else you got??

Upper style is cast iron. Lower style is welded steel tube. Both have marginal if any value, especially the early style.

imho the value of front engine support bar is when you include it to complete a side shift conv package. pricey to ship when its all alone.
