Does anyone know if it is possible to disassemble a stock (73) chrome side mirror and have it chromed?

Thanks,
boxstr
Yes hey can be taken apart. Be careful not to break the black ring that ou need to remove to get he glass out. Use lots of penetration liquid to get the nuts and bolts apart. Then take the metal parts and have them polished by a pro.

Stainless Steel? I disassembled mine and hooked up my buffing wheel in the drill press. 5 minutes later they looked almost brand new..

The mirror holder is stainless and very polishable.
The base and arm are chromed pot metal and are re-chromable, but.....they both have tapered features that must be protected from growing when plated or reassembly will be a problem.
