Full Version: Is there a vendor who can upholster a Getty dash?

Starting to plan the conversion of my Zambezi Green car to a 6. After Scotty's excellent "rustoration" last year the car is one of the most rust free 914's on the East Coast. So, it's a great starting point.

The 2.4L engine (needs to be checked out) is at Scotty's, the Dr. Evil transmission and an oil tank are in my possession. I still need engine tin, engine mount, shift rod, throttle bits, etc. which I am accumulating.

The 16" (6 and 7) Fuchs are in boxes and the 5-lug conversion from Eric is in my office.

My interior is in very nice shape; however, there is one crack on the dash that needs addressing. The 911 dash is awesome so I'm thinking about a Getty dash. Do we have a vendor on the board who upholsters Getty dashes? I would rather use a proven shop who has upholstered one than let the local yokels experiment.

Around here an exotic car is an '90's Caprice with a Skittles paint job and 30" rims

Autos International, they do all the 356 stuff, simple enough project for them.

Check with dr evil...he mentioned someone up near him that he may try, to see if they can cover 914 dashes like his oooold POC south of the border. You may be the test case, as you are more ready to send than I am.

Here's my Getty Dash:

Done by Dash Specialists, 541-776-0040 Medford Oregon

It took about 6 weeks due to their backlog, I supplied the material so it would match my Recaro seats. I also had them do the door pockets, lower dash, and the passenger door granny bar. They use a combination of heat and glue to stretch the material into position.

Total cost was about $500.00

Hope this helps.

What is up with the underside of the dash cover right above the left side vent?

That's my screw up trying to get everything back in. I tore the synthetic leather, when putting things together.

Nobody's perfect.
