Any of you have a fuel filter in the engine bay and if so what's the best location?

before the fuel gets to the injectors....after that, it's too late smile.gif

on the d-jet (or at least mine) my secondary filter is located right before the fuel rail for the #4 cylinder

On d-jet, the fuel filter goes before the fuel pump. If you are running a secondary fuel filter (like Mike talks about), don't use another stock style one. You need a fuel filter for high pressure applications since it will be subjected to 30psi all the time. The stock filter isn't subject to any real fuel pressure.

Sure it is to protect the injectors but the FACTORY thought they had it right by putting it on the intake port of the 3 port pump. I would not want any forign stuff scaring up the guts of an $250 pump. Even if you ran carbs I would protect the eletric fuel pump as well. Get it out of the bay and put it in front of the pump. Who wants extra stuff cluttering up the motor bay anyway. I put my battery in the front trunk and had the ECU in the rear trunk (no mods to FI harness) but just sitting in the Fla sun it got too hot without running it. Now its back in the bay just hangs on two hooks with one block or rubber behind it.
