there for sensors when you use with the stock airbox set up..i dont use them,i just capped them off and tuck them away ..do not cut them off

Are those for the cold-start system? The one that was apparently better at catching fire than helping a cold start?

Looks like a few people answered your question. Just tape the spare wires off do not cut them like stated before.

What about that box with the two connectors shown on the last picture where the breather hose is connected? Does it need to be powered?

That's an oil temp switch that screws into the breather cover.

no power. The two wires where for a decel smog solenoid that kept the throttle open on longer. same for the thermal switch in the picture that is in the breather cover. The single wire on the right in my pic is for the cold start enrichment.
