Full Version: Piston rings
Was wondering which piston rings to use on a engine build, Deves, Hastings, etc. Has anyone ran the lifters they sell at aircooled net that are resurfaced. polished, then they phosphate the lifter heads. Supposed to make them perfectly compatable with web cam camshafts, and solve the problems with the aftermarket lifters.
Are they tested and proven....No, not to my knowledge..
I finally found the issues with lifters after 9,500.00 invested in lifters and 4,400 invested in cams and a solid month building a fixture.
If the dimensions on top of that lifter are incorrect you can coat it with diamond and it won't help! (I actually DLC coated some of them and it didn't even help!)
It takes time and trial and error to do this, I have been working on it since July non stop!
BTW, all the wonder about what parts to use and where to get them for a build is almost over!
