Back in the day, I would replace my stock master cylinder with a Mercedes master cylinder. It was either 22 or 23 mm and it would give me a high, hard pedal, especially when using big brakes. I believe it came off of a 1970-1980 280 SL or a 450 SEL. It was almost a straight bolt-on and worked really well. I sold the car and it didn't have any part numbers on it to identify it anyway. My parts man at World Pack can.t remember the part number. Does anyone know the part number or the car it came off of? Thanks, John

I have brand new one that I will be installing soon.

I have one on my car which uses Carrera brakes on all four corners. It does give a very hard pedal and I like it. As I get older I may have to change because of age and strength but for now I like it.

Availability: Pelican and other type of suppliers.

I found mine on RockAuto.com

I don't remember the price but it was cheap!

We met each other at Moroso. I was there with my PCA friends working the
corners, off and on.
You and I stood facing the track while the hillclimb car massively smoked at a
fast idle, in the field adjacent to the old turn 1 kink at Moroso.
We shared thoughts of valve guides or a cracked piston, possibly in the floor
of a ring groove.
I can't recall what you later found it to be. Hopefully something simple.
Bustin' chains to remove the head isn't simple.
If you don't remember, that's okay. I've been a fan since, '95.
