Is the mounting tab (the piece that holds the stud) broken off?

Yes I do believe that has happened, something on the handle that opens the door on the inside is broken. looks like it can't be fixed... when you open the handle and look inside you can see where it has come apart..
When I get the handle off of the car I will take a pic and post it.

If it looks like this I can fix it for you..........

Here is a picture of the left outer door handle that you emailed me about yesterday. I sent you an email. The blue and grey colors on the handle are my reflection not paint or fading.
