Nope - too small.

Nope, doesn't have the little "ears" on it. If it's large enough, the back up light boot. If not, then the alternator positive wire.

Not an original 914 part, a lame attempt at a substitute, for what I cannot remember. Battery+ at starter motor I think.

Yeah, you're probably correct. Something that I picked up somewhere/sometime. Cute, but worthless I suspect. Price of being a parts whore. Was just stashed away with a bunch of 914 parts.

It is a universal VW part used on several models. It is the cap that is used on the VW Bug and 356 generator positive cable. Used on the 914 altenator + cable under the cover, the dome got flatten out by the cover. NOS harness pictures added.
