What color is the fan on a stock six cylinder?


Painted? Polished? Powder coated?

Mine is just bare casting, no paint, no powdercoat (I think)

It's Magnesium, Pwdr coating should be ok (somewhere around 400F, I think, maybe
a little more). Anyway, I wouldn't pwdr coat it. It believe it would end-up too thick.
I had to qualify vendors that had to hold very tight tolerances, and they couldn't do it. 1 in 20 had the equipment to qualify.
The blades tips should fit the ring fairly close. Most of the work is at the tips of the
blades.
p.s. Mg is light to med gray.

The fan/housing are a magnesium casting and where never treated with anything . No paint or powder coating from the factory. 911 guys have pc these just for looks.
What I did to my housing was b blast it then clear coated it.
