I have a set off Hella 500s with the Rennmetal brackets that mount thru the stock rubber snubbers holes. However, my front bumper & bumper top are plastic. The front bumper is actually chromed plastic. Am I crazy to bolt the lights thru the plastic bumper. I don't know if its strong enough to support the bracket. & lights. I can use a large metal plate on the backside for additional support Anyone else have this type of bumper.

I'd be Leary about them handling repeated abuse that standard road bumps would dish out.

This may not help but... I used beeline L brackets from Home Depot. They are attached to rubber snubbers behind the bumper and protrude under the bumper.

That looks like a much better solution.

I'll have to take off the chrome cover & see if there is some metal to attach a bracket to.
