Which distributor would be best for a dual 44mm Weber, 96mm x 78mm engine???

if you are staying stock a 1.8 dizzy, iirc its a 205 a

It's bored and strocked with dual 44mm carbs and a larger cam.

sorry i ment stock ing, not going mallory or something along those lines, the 1.8 dizzy will work with crane and other ones but i dont know enough about mallory to point you that way

for modified engines.... Aircooled.net recommends the mallory with the grey/grey springs. fully adjustable
