I am currently laying everything out to begin the reassembly process of my motor and realized that I am missing the shim for the pinion drive. Is this something a VW shop would have, can it be ordered or am I screwed until I find one at a junk yard?

should be a standard VW part...I'm too lazy to look up the number...If I look, I prolly have some in one of the engines if you need it that bad.....................

try a bug shop...or pick-n-pull, but it might be a tad bit muddy today....

T4 motor ONLY. Bug ones, 356/912 ones are different. You MUST have it. Little thing, has little dished spots for oil flow. HTH, The Cap'n
