Does anyone have a setup like this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

I'm looking to add more bass to my stereo but I don't want to tear up behind my seats. I also want something to go in the center area. Any thoughts?

Hammy:

We (my two sons and I) are installing stereo systems right now. Yes we all have 914's. My son Drue bought the footwell speaker boxes from the folks you found on ebay. From your link, they are the same folks here on the 914 Club. He purchased them from them directly (914 Club bbs). They are excellent quality. He installed a 8" Polk Momo subwoofer which is mounted sideways in the existing center console box, behind his gauges. His amp is mounted behind the driver's seat on the rear panel, just off the floor. This kept wires traversing the engine compartment to a minimum and left both trunks clear. The system sounds awesome.

In my car, a 914-6, I removed my rear seat panel and installed something called Dynamat, on the whole firewall. I applied it directly to the factory stuff that was there. It does a pretty amazing job of quieting down the noise from the engine fan. My son installed the Dynamat on his doors as well.

These cars are lots of fun but even better with a nice sound system.

Use Bass shakers under the seats.

I like the sub under the passenger front floor rather than the center console. But I also don't like the center console all that much.

I have his 61/2" speaker enclosures that replace the stock ones, I also installed the 50 watt set of bass shakers under the seats on a dedicated kicker sub-amplifier.

Lastly I installed in the back lower corners of the doors panel flush mounted 4"x 6" Cerwin Vega plate speakers. The balance of the system is fantastic !!!
The Bass Shakers and the pecfect amount of Bass for the size of the interior.

I also have his carpet and center console, his products
and prices are a excellent value.

I agree that his products are excellent. I love the replacements for the stock speakers. I also like the sub in the passenger floor area - just a suggestion.

Greg...that is a nice looking solution for those that don't want to use or put in a center console solution.

Engman..maybe a cool aluminum board would be sweet to match your pedal board?

Question...has anybody ever installed one of the bazooka tubes? That also might sit neatly inside one of the original center consoles or behind the passenger seat without cutting anything up?
