Hi there,

Does anyone have pictures of what an unaltered clutch cable's adjustment nut set up should look like?

I've searched forums and have the Haynes manual (page 71 photo isn't great). I saw this thread

http://ftp.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=221402

But I'm looking for definitive original setup to serve as a baseline reference. The PO did something "creative" that I think is preventing us from adjusting the cable properly(if at all) I'm tring to figure out what might need to be done to return to normal.

I also searched the PET, but couldn't locate the setup.

Thanks in advance

Thank you sir! Definitely have to fix the current setup.

Cheers.

Actually, 7mm nuts that use 11mm wrenches to tighten. I think the original setup was one 7mm locknut, but the two give a more secure adjustment.

I usually refer to nuts by the size of the wrench used and bolts by their thread size.

Your mileage may vary ...

Interesting quiz....

Can you name one other nut on the car that you can use when the clutch nut falls off?

It's not an easy answer.

I couldn't think of any when Tom T needed one. There is some other
7mm threaded thing?

Any of the nuts that hold the trunk torsion bar on.

What do I win? biggrin.gif

Edit: Nevermind, that's an M6, I forgot.

The rocker arm studs are M7, right? But that would not be a good idea...
