Every wants more power, I want the stock look and quiet.

Any suggestions from your experience.

I am looking for good tone, low noise......

I bought an almost new oem muffler. Bolted right on and sounds fine. Much quieter than the Bursch I removed. Has a little surface rust so I plan on painting but cost me ~$120 last year.

On my conversion car I had carbs and a Monza exhaust. Sounded good around town but was annoying when driving for more than an hour or 2. Stock FI, stock, he's and muffler is the way to go if you want a low noise, stock look, bolt on solution. I can't believe you would feel much more performance from an aftermarket muffler on a car with only 71 stock hp.

Stock is the quietest.

My OEM muffler is over 25 years old and is still quiet and intact. All it has needed in the 2+ decades is a repaint. And it is quiet. I was happy to replace the noisy Bursch unit and now I can hear the engine.

Sorry for the hi-jack, but what is quieter, a Leistritz 1.7 muffler or a Leistritz 2.0 Banana exhaust.

Also how is the difference in the exhaust note?

No hijack. Isn't the banana for a six?

Were the stock 1.7's always crossover type?

All I have seen is the tube left and right pipe exit.
