OK, little help... I'm reworking the doors on my '73 914. There is a metal strip with a U shaped channel that holds the rubber/felt against the glass. Is this secured similar to the VW's with a expanding push-in pins? Do I just use a putty knife to pry it towards the glass? Maybe it's just been there for 40 years and doesn't want to move...

is it salvageable?

otherwise you may need to buy new anyway.

if it is like engine bay rubber, it may need to be slid in/out thru the channel?

rubber is gone and missing... It's the metal I'm trying to get out so I can prepare the door for rust...

+1 ...... yes, I think it is three screws. If the window itself is removed you can see or feel the screw tips from the backside.
