This is the history of the restoration details of the “P-Car”. Complete documentation
of receipts, photographs and Porsche “Certification of Authenticity” will be included.
This is a numbers matching car. According the vehicle registration on March 6 2012
there were 43,499 indicated miles on the car. The speedometer has been replace
and now the indicated miles currently are 2095. Therefore, the car has the
approximate total mileage of 45,794 miles
Body: Prep for painting most of the paint was removed.
“Body glaze” was applied completely
Tub Prep: All rust was removed or treated with Pors. One rust through
near the right hand jack port was patched. The firewall between the
cabin and engine was replaced with new metal. The sound pad was
removed and placed with new sound deadening material on both sides
of the firewall.
Paint: The tub was sprayed with a gray primer then a black primer to
ensure all low or high spots were fixed with body glaze. Epoxy primer
was used as a base for the finish paint. Sherman-Williams two-stage
epoxy (base coat/clear coat) was used for the finish coats (six coats of
finish). The paint was a special mix of Sunflower yellow matched
Porsche’s paint. The body was color sanded as final step to painting
process. The wheel wells were cleaned and painted flat black along
with the under body.
Body Assembly: Front and rear bumpers were re-chromed to “show car”
standards. The bumper “tits” holes were plug with stain steel plugs.
Most bright work was replaced with new parts. A new PPG tinted
windshield was installed. A Corvette third brake light was used on the
engine access lid.. Tail light lens were replaced. I have a spare set of
European lens included with the car. The hard top was cleaned and
several coats of “Back to Black” were applied. All of the rubber seals
were replaced. The rear valance has cut outs for two exhaust pipes. A
new uncut fiberglass rear valance is included with the car.
Interior: The seats were cleaned softener applied. New dash pad was sourced
(Doc Evil’s Mexican connection) and installed. The sun visors need o be
replaced. (I have not found an acceptable source will not do). Custom
quad gauges and speedometer were installed. All dash lights were up
graded for better lighting. Momo steering wheel and pedal pads were
used. Electric window lifts. New charcoal gray carpet was installed.
Power window kit was installed (regulators need to be greased). The
center gauge counsel was removed (will be included) replaced with a
custom “tray”. The pedal assembly was re-built all bushings were
replaced. Throttle linkage cable was replaced.
Engine: The original engine case was used for the rebuild. The engine was
disassembled. All crank and connecting rods were inspected and
magnafluxed. Components to build a 2056 displacement engine were
obtained from Jake Raby (cam, push rods, swivel-foot rocker arms,
Ham stage II heads with 42x36 valves. All moving parts were balanced.
Tuning was done a dynamometer and indicating a maximum horse
power of 126. Throttle linkage is German design that I have made. CNC
machining with two ball bearings upper and lower. The air intake is my
design that was fabricated locally. It is made using 3 inch welded
aluminum tubing connected with silicone tubing with stainless clamps.
The exhaust is handled by stainless steel heat exchangers, Currently
there is “quite” muffler installed A performance turbo muffler is included.
The fuel injection system is a M3D with Jenny throttle bodies. The
system is programmed using a lap top computer (included).
Trans.: The transmission was rebuilt by Mr. L. Martin, the pervious owner. A J.
West Ren shifter was added, all the bushings were replaced. Shifting
components were adjusted. Pedal cluster was rebuilt. All the bushings
and wear points were replaced.
Steering, Brakes, Suspension: Brakes - rebuilt calipers, vented rotors, 19mm master cylinder, five lug
hubs, and 911 polished Fucs 16” wheels with custom wheel caps. turbo
tie rods, four wheel alignment and four Koni adjustable shocks. Stock
springs are used.
Parts included with car, custom fitted flannel car cover, stock steering wheel, center console with gauges, laptop computer for fuel system management.
