This is reply to all the NPT / Straight thread BS I just read.

And by the way, use of a tapered thread in a straight thread and mixtures
of thread types is also BS.

There are many engineering sites out there. Use 'em.

Very nice link! - Bookmarked!

I probably should have read that before ordering the $400 worth of AN fittings that I just did few minutes ago.
Still confused about the oil filter sandwich adapter to 12AN hose fittings....
"Just buy enough parts to be sure it works" (then sit on a few hundred $$ worth of parts that you didnt really need....)

Don't panic, just methodically go through your system, develop a connection schematic before starting, matching the items you have already ordered.
You can always return them.

I don't see any 'keg' there, nothing that is a tapered metric thread.

I believe the site I linked to in 'the other thread' about "use of a tapered thread in a straight thread and mixtures
of thread types" was an engineering site - you can tell by the subdomain biggrin.gif

http://engineers.ihs.com/document/abstract/ZSMXJBAAAAAAAAAA

-Certainly more relevant than all the talk of british straight pipe or npt thread.

that's true, other links will follow. They're on my other computer.
We'll make this THE thread to go to with everyone's help.
I think one of them is called "panzerverwinge" or something like that.
I'll look for it tomorrow.

Anyway, the panzergewinde or whatever, was for conduit. The above link has
the data that I was looking for. As I said earlier, I have other charts from Aeroquip and others on my garage computer.

If you want to learn about fittings, lay lines, bend radius and support this is a much better read…FAA AC-43
