Modified for full adjustability in advance? I don't get how this is supposed to work, other than the vacuum canister being used to *limit* full advance? confused24.gif

Or why a race machine cares about part throttle cruise advance...
Mike Bellis
The rotor "races" around in circles... Duh biggrin.gif

I bet the canister was filed down or something so it does not hit on anything when you rotate it thus giving adjustability! There is nothing else that limits your ability to advance the timing.

Yup, that's pretty much what I figured. A Mallory is on my list of things to buy from Racer Chris at some point, so this was not a consideration - more of a curiosity as to what the heck he was talking about in that ad.

The vacuum can actually ADDS advance over and above the mechanical advance, so total mechanical advance isn't the same as total advance. Why would you get rid of that?

Just my 2 cents, But i am very happy with my distributor from CB Performance. Fully adjustable i think they baced it off the MSD. the Tin will have to be clearenced to fit.
