Excellent. I have a NOS switch in a box & that dohicky has been rattling around mocking me.
To me, ( and possibly many others), the old saying, " a picture is worth a thousand words", in this instance, just doesn't work very well! Some explanation would be very helpful.

It is the ground strap for the make and break contact on the wiper switch. When you look at the picture you can see it has one side of the contacts.
