Do I use a standard cable for my PMO set up? I know I'll need a linkage on the tranny, but do those work with the standard cable?

When you say standard you mean 4 cylinder type? The cable for the 6 has two threaded ends where the 4 cylinder has a bolt that clamps the cable end for the throttle body. Patrick Motor Sport has a good repro that I bought.

No, you will need another cable. when I purchased the bracket for the transmission, the new cable was included. the end of the new cable is the snapped on type .

I got the Rich Johnson kit.

I do not know about either kit. I made my own linkage and used a Patrick cable for a 6 cylinder.
