Not a Porsche but fun none the less. His face under acceleration is priceless.

I want one too. 20k british pounds. How much is that in American currency? Are they even legal here? That is just too awesome. Faster than a Carrera GT? Just under the Enzo.

$20000 GBP = $38319 USD
So the question is whether you'd want an Elise or this car?

I would take it over an Elise anyday. Twice on Sunday. Faster, lighter, just a lot more fun.

That is intense. I wonder where you would get one of those leather "Romper Suits" he was talking about?

Was looking at there website an noticed one of there used atoms up for sale is regristered in the state of Washington. So someone in the PNW owns one of these, probably Bill Gates.
He is asking 52K for the car.

Build a aluminum frame and bolt in one of Jake's 2.8s, add wheels and go like hell.

that's one awesome piece of machinery.
what all do you need to be street legal in the US? Smog requirements? Windshield? Turn Signals? Headlamps?

I thought the guy was pretty ballsy (stupid?) to be driving the way he was in that video with no helmet
Looked like fun, though.

With all the engineering and building skills here, bet we could build something just as much fun on the cheap.
Tube frame, salvage Suzuki 1300 or such behind driver seat, chain or belt drive using motorcycle transmission to save weigh and hassles. So 800lbs and 130ish HP? Build it as a 3wheeler to get thru DMV as a custom m/c, then change to 4wheel once licensed. Would be a shitload of fun at A/X.

I think the key is that the company only has 7 employees. When you put 7 skilled people on a team who are all focussed on a narrow goal you get an Atom. If you had, say 2,000 people on the team, you'd end up with a AMC Pacer.
One of the reasons I modify just about everything I get my hands on is that nothing I like could ever survive a comitee.

Guys, I saw a little while ago a trike--not the vw kind--two wheels in the front and one behind.
It had side by side seating and a cool glass body on it--open also--
He was tearing down south Flamingo rd from hwy 84--
He was going so fast it was all I could do to get a look at it---
