I just did mine .... I put the seal into the bottom of the channel, and then used a blunt flat blade screwdriver and pushed the top into the channel. Went right in with no problems. I did push the seal to "compress " it rather than "stretch" it so that amybe it wont shrink so quickly !! Maybe I did it right ..........

Do it like David said.
Don't try to start at one end and slide it on, that does not work too well.

yes,drive train is out,thats why im doing it.thanks for the suggestions.i m waiting for rubber to arrive
