Not a lot of 908 motors floating around out there, and they're probably worth significantly more than $90K apiece .........................

I can only imagine a 908 motor is easily a large six-figure number.

WTF is a "54 manual transmission automatic transmission"? Is it automatically manual or manually automatic?

It's a 914-6 with an 8 and a 6 speed paddle shift. So, it has 3 transmissions?

WTF is up lately with "Tribute" cars? Tribute aka wannabe aka POS???
porschefile2010
That's odd. There were only two 8's produced and both had 5 speed manual transmission. So why would you mess with such a rare car. One wasn't street legal ( although I guess you could make it so ) and the other had a welded on tin top. It would be interesting to see if this is one of these but I doubt it.
Andyrew
Maybe it has the sportomatic gearbox from the 911? Looks like the ad says 54miles on the odo.

Definitely a tribute/fake. BUT it would be really cool to actually see some pics and a vin.

That could be a typo; they could be an olde truck driver. Semis used to have a 5 speed transmission and a 4 speed auxiliary transmission. Aka 5 and 4.

I live not too far away since I'm in Portland. My curiosity is burning so I want to go check it out and get some photos. And casually question the seller with subterfuge while letting it be known that I'm the kind of guy that likes to drop $90K on scams.

I'll report back.
