i am going to put a new carpet set in ,havent chosen vendor yet,but am not clear if carpets are glued in or not..i see grommets advertised and am not sure how they are put in and carpet attached.also i want to put sound proofing under carpet ,maybe glue carpet to that?

Here's the order I use. (Carpet on top, metal at the bottom)

Carpet
Double-sided tape
Soundproof Material
Paint
Primer
Metal

perfect.i was thinking odf double sided tape.what sound proofing do you use?

I tried to do it in the reverse and it just did not look right.
