I bought a pair of Chevy aluminum heads for the 283 I'm building for my '75 autocrosser. Good shape, low miles, good price, but unfortunately the PO painted them blue... mad.gif

Know of a way to get paint off aluminum? I heard stripper would discolor it.

I'd use a small (not cheap, but small) wire wheel on a die grinder or something similar.

Wait, what am I saying. I'd glass bead 'em probably.

wire wheel will yeild scratches on your beautiful aluminum surface. Maybe 3m scotchbrite pad?

That's when you start polishing....

Here's why...
