This thing makes my 914 look huge!

2.0 914 engine most likely will need a total tear down, only has 500 miles on it, but it has a scat C-25 and scat lube-a-lobe lifters. Pretty sure one is going flat, it won't go over 5000rpm. Needs a proper exhaust. Tranny is geared wrong, he can't make it go over 80mph.

914 gauges...it also has beautiful 914 leather seats but I can't get a good pic of them.

Why didnt he just buy a 914? That car is pretty though.

Wonder if he gets more grief from the 356 weasels than I do with Frankenstealth?

There is a huge thread of bitches about 356 replicas on the "anal rentitive" list.....some of those guys just have NO CLUE.....

It is a nice replica 356 for sure. If it is the intermacin...inermech...interme... oh whatever they are, they are nicely done replicas.

Dumb question, but this has always bothered me about the speedster replicas. If you cut off the body and just leave the floor pan of a bug, is there any rigidity left? Any real steel above pan? In doors?

I don't know...Classic? I can't find a badge anywhere. The guy doesn't know who built it. I'm not crazy about the flares...needs spacers so the wheels fill them better,
The door/lid lines are real good, it's a nice kit.
Seems solid enough, haven't taken for a boot yet. Beetles have sort of a wish bone frame to the pan. You just unbolt the bug body and take it off.

The dude bought it like this in the US and had all kinds of problems importing it.

I like it, not as much as my teen but it is pretty...the"anal rentitive" types can blow me.

Hope it's not a sperm count....got fixed after kid #3.....

As to the rigidity issue....the bug floor pans are rippled to provide structural integrity...which is then helped by the body panels.

You COULD theoritcally drive it around without a body, but it would more than likely fold up on it's self after a good solid jolt.....

The pan (center tunnel) itself would never fold, but the floor has to be bolted to something. The floor sections alone will not support any weight.

Is there a cooling fan on that motor?

Looks like the shroud for the fan is missing unless it's all black and doesn't show up in the photo.

It's there....needs work for a positive seal though, he wanted a DTM but I'm pretty sure it won't fit.

Just one of the many issues.
