1974 914 2.0 Liter

$13,500

Ground up restoration. My Dad completed this in his late 70s. 98% restored. Approximately 100 miles on complete top end rebuild of motor. The only outstanding to make this perfect would be some interior work such as new carpet and some minor seat repair. Also to be very up front, perhaps some electrical. the turn signal dash light may be burned out. Odometer has never worked and shows 24,000 miles. Not sure when that stopped working, but again at most 100 miles since the rebuild.

Fuel injection replaced with Dual Dellorto Carbs. The car has AC, but I am not sure I have all of the parts. My parents lost their place in Hurricane Charlie and some things did not make it.

Many parts replaced. Lenses for running lights, turn signal and tail lights, all rubber trim is new. Bumpers in great condition. just replaced the gas tank, and installed brand new 195/65 tires (April 2014). Car runs very, very strong. White paint, with a very light Rose tint. Not original, but a beautiful car.

This is special to me, as it was my Dad's last project. With much regret I need to sell this car. I have a 1975 VW Bug Convert that is 100% restored and can't keep both.

Will post a link to videos and more photos

Have some recent pictures of the typical problem spots on 914's? Hell hole, longs, floor pans, trunks, etc...

And if I am reading this correctly, it was restored in the late 1970's and then driven less than 100 miles?

TIA...

Hi. My Dad bought it in the late 80s. he restored it over several years. the floorpans and under carriage are solid. there is a slight rust spot under the battery, but it is not structural. i can send a pic of that. no rust anywhare else on this car

I will post more pics... it is spotless.

BTW - I traveled for work for several years.

The car sat fully covered in my garage since about 2006 and had not been started. I am embarrassed about that but care giving for failing parents and work were priority.

I had a Porsche specialist just bring it back to life. He rebuilt the carbs, replaced the electric fuel pump and replaced the gas tank as there was rust. New plugs and he changed to oil twice. It is sound and runs great.

I will post a link to videos this weekend... and I hope I do not talk myself out of selling it sad.gif
