I have been debating what to do about the brew competition. Last year there was a CA law passed that was intended to open up and clarify when/where/what home brewers could do with their beer (or wine). Unfortunately California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control interpreted the new law very narrowly and has been using it to shut-down just about any event that has home brewed beer at it. Including some very large and established events & festivals. There is new legislation in the works. In the mean time, there are mixed thoughts in the brewing community whether the new legislation will influence the ABC to be more lenient or more strict until the law changes.
It is my conclusion that it is not smart to advertise a brew competition. I don't really think WCR would raise a flag for the ABC but we also don't want trouble.
Thoughts?

I could care less on the brew competition. I don't drink so I won't do anything with it anyway. Can't be a judge or anything. So I'll just laugh at you all while you figure it out
