Lots of VWs...new the 914s. I need a 1970-1972 exhaust. Would like a dual exhaust. I purchased one in excellent condition at a local swap. I doesn't fit! It hits the body. I also need the oval shaped shift rod cover that goes on the firwall along with the seal. Thanks for any help you can give me!!

You have a tail shift trans not a side shift trans. I have the boot for the firewall.
I assume you have a 1.7 engine?
I have a couple of exhausts. One is a four tip and the other a stock 1.7 muffler. You have to modify the rear valance to fit ta two or four tip muffler.
I am in CA. I only want $40 for either muffler but shipping wil also be about that much.

Being that these cars are +/- 40 years old and possibly have had a number of owners, there's no telling what may have been changed from the original build.

It would be advantageous if you posted some pix of the exhaust system that's on the car. That goes for any other parts you might need.

Yes it is a tail shift sorry about that. The car came as a basket case. No exhaust included. It has every factory option. Gold metallic paint, A/C, and etc. That's the only reason I saved it. Yes 1.7. The four tip I have hits the body. Thanks all!

Hey Bruce,

If the 4 tip is for a 1970-1972 1.7 I will take it! Also what do you want for the Boot? Thanks in advance for your time.

Just started making the "rubber bands" that hold it to the firewall. $8 if you need one.
