So I have this 71 VW Superbeetle, my rebuilt freeway flyer transmission just arrived.
Yeah I know this is not the 914, however so far you guys have been spot on.
So what type of oil, and is there any break in procedures/oil change I should do??

Use cheap ass dinosaur oil. Nothing special. Drive it.

Be careful with the freeway flyer. Make sure you are able to keep the revs up enough to keep the engine cool. I know you probably know that, but folks have cooked engines by running with revs too low for extended periods of time on the freeway. Just use a CHT to monitor head temps (especially on Cylinder 3) and you should be fine.
