Good eyes, my pc screen is too dark to make out the wheels but the tank is a give-away. Probably a seller that doesn't know too much about the car and just pulled engine info from something else

Engine: 2.0L 1991CC 122Cu. In. H6 GAS SOHC Naturally Aspirated

And a 72, I didn't think any factory 6 cars were built in 72.

Maybe not a factory 6. Could be a transplant.

There were factory sixes in 72. None were imported to the US. There may be some grey market cars here though.

They were unique in that they had a 4cylinder column and wiring harness, and a small adapter harness to hook up the 6cylinder relay board.

Sill had a VIN starting with 914 though. smile.gif

The Ignition Switch on a 72 914-6 is on the Column. And what do you think is wrong with the Interior and how would it differ?

This isn't a Factory -6

Movable passenger seat! That says it is later than 72 and so does the vin!

And a 72, I didn't think any factory 6 cars were built in 72.

There were only about 250 that were considered 72s and I believe all were manufactured in 71. I also recall that they were all sold in Europe. I did have a chance to see and ride in a 72 over 20 years ago. I don't remember how it got to the States.

I'm bummed that I sold my 70 six and even more bummed that I didn't buy a 71 six from the original owner 10 years ago. The guy worked at a friend's shop and he needed money. He said I could have the car for $15k. It had original everything and had something like 60k miles on it. It was driven in the 70's and pretty much was garaged until he sold it. I had the checkbook out and my wife said no. hissyfit.gif

my'72 has movable passenger seat and I am relatively certain it is stock. going by posted vin # would this not suggest a '73 model year?

Your build date should be late '72 ... a couple of mid-year changes.

The 1972 914-6 was an odd beastie. Moveable passenger's seat, steering-wheel ignition switch, and other stuff that "wasn't on 914-6es". I've seen one or two in person; they're pretty rare in the US.
