There are only 100 days remaining before the WCC. Will you (and your car) be ready? Time is running out. Rich has proved that he can build The Alien from the pistons out in less time. What about us mere mortals? What do you still have to do? Post your progress to embarrass encourage others.

Man I hope to. Break in engine, finish road tuning then dyno. Deal with assorted little things like oil leaks air leaks in the heating system, vacuum leaks.
Oh ya I have to pull the gas tank and fix my airbox. Too much cold air gets past the seals.

Nope, still have not found a 3.2 to put in the 2.7s place, and right now engine bay is stripped and almost ready for paint. I will start a seperate thread soon. I may still fly out and rent a car

Geez!! Way to freak everyone out! No my car's not ready. No, I'm not ready. I haven't registered, I haven't paid, I haven't booked the hotel yet, and my car's been sitting under a cover for the last two months!
Seriously? 100 days? That's it?

My cars are ready, I'm not, but that's another story.
For all of you flying in, suggest renting Ford Focus (Foci?). They are surprisingly track ready and we can have a separate class. Buy the extra insurance

Yeah, but that's not important
Where's the article you were gonna write for the 05 Program?

Uh... when's that due? I can either have that ready for the WCC or my car.

I've got to fix my battery tray, replace the rear springs and shocks, as well as trailing arm bushings, install front and rear sway bars, and procure a helmet. I also might be putting in those 'Pep Boys Special' racing seats. Oh and an alignment probably wouldn't hurt either.

totally not ready yet. can't even think about it for another month or so. but then i'll need to strip/paint the engine bay, install engine/carbs, replace fuel pump, do some wiring, tune the bitch, align, front wheel bearings, rotors, pads, and a few other things i'm forgetting.
2-3 weekends worth of work -- i ought to be okay.

Im in the same boat as nebreitling. I need to strip my engine bay, prep car for paint, por 15 interior, fix a tiny bit of rust, install carbs, install engine/trans, and install new m/c (not in that order of course). I'll be there in either my 914 or 912. One of the two will be done.

Don't forget road testing. I'm saving 30 days for daily driving. So I only have 70 days to finish up. If it's not running 100% yet, I'll tow it down and only drive it little bits.
Now about those fees. How many people can we fit into a hotel room?

aaaaaaahahhhhhhhhh! No pressure.
I only have to:
Get a windshield
paint the bumpers
paint the rockers
paint the rear valence
finish the interior
powder coat the wheels
buy tires
finish a bunch of detail work
get the car aligned
and possibly find other-than-carbon fiber decks and get them painted.
I'm working on it and I will be there.

This morning I had a fine, running 914...
now.
On my list: make 'glass dash, make 'glass front trunk divider, install climate control system, strip & por15 engine bay, make & mount battery tray ON OTHER SIDE OF BAY, rewire bay, rewire & finish new engine harness, and misc rewire of fuse box & relays.
If productivity is my friend... make intake manifold, make headers & new cross pipe.
Looking to be the best 3 months of my life

Well, this weekend I crossed off the battery tray. And I simultaneously added and subtracted the hell hole repair as well. In the process of replacing the battery tray I discovered that a small section of the inner wheel house rusted through at the hell hole location. So I welded that up and took the paint off everything else and POR-25'd it.
The optima battery is really solid in there now on a brand new tray.
Anyone ever do the front sway bar install without removing the fuel tank?

Wow Chris. That looks like a mess. That is gonna look great when you finish.
Let me know if you need some help. You should have called sooner. I am much better at taking things apart than I am at putting them back together again.

Unfortunately Doris and I will not be at the WCC to defend our TTOD Auto-X title. Wait a minute....there is not Auto-X at this year's WCC....so we still have the title
Our new car won't be ready. It looks like May or June before we take it for it's maiden voyage.
Someone should post pics daily for us junkies.
